Arenes de Nimes

After a leisurely breakfast and some laundry, today we drove over to Nimes, which boasts a huge collection of Roman artifacts and structures. Nimes wasn't as pretty as Arles, but seems larger and more fashion-forward. Maybe it's a college town, I don't know. After spending a couple hours shopping we toured the Arenes de Nimes, which claims to be the oldest preserved and still used Roman coliseum in existence (constructed in 100 AD). Indeed, they have bullfights and all kinds of events in it, as well as audio-guided tours, which we took part in. It's weird walking on 2000 year-old floor. I wonder if I've ever walked on it before?
