I work for Alaska’s Educational Resource Center as the Technology Director of the TechOps group. Most of my time is spent helping K-12 school districts and agencies modernize systems and integrate technology.

I’ve always had a penchant for gadgets and software. As a child I spent hours at the command center in my bedroom: a desk made to look like a spaceship cockpit, fashioned from drawings and disassembled calculators. Over the years not much has changed (only now the calculators are real):

In school my focus in school was creative writing and computers. In college I explored music and media production, and after that during the .com boom of the late 90s I worked in Seattle developing websites.

In Alaska, since 1999, I’ve been lucky enough to get to do what I love every day: help people and organizations do their jobs better by learning new tools and techniques.
