Wedding

us at the grand canyonWell ladies, I'm off the market! That's right. Sorry. The smartest, most wonderful woman in the world snagged me up. I'm cozily caught in her juicy web of lovins and family. And I'm blown away at how I became the luckiest guy on earth?

We had an adorable wedding in an old chapel on the shore. The weather was perfect. The bride was beautiful. Our best friends and family witnessed. Bill sang a song he wrote. We said "we do", and we do.

husband and wifeAfterwards it seems the whole town came to the Ore House for a huge party. I must admit, some of you I don't think I invited. But that's what happens in Juneau. I loved seeing each and every one of you. We had tons of great local food, fish, and spirits. The music was great, and the champagne was perfect. Thanks to everyone who as a community made our reception so awesome.

I only wish I'd had more time to talk with friends and family who came in from out of town. The whole event was such a fun whirlwind!

Then Lu an I were off to honeymoon. Vegas, Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zyon, Tahoe, San Francisco... we drove all over the southwest in a zippy rental car. We won at the Venetian and lost at the Bellagio. In the end... even steven!

Love At First Sight

Sierra invited Nate and I to go on a hike to Blue Mussel cabin about a week after we arrived here in Juneau. The cabin had a wood-burning sauna. I was about as green as an Alaskan newcomer could be.

Late in the evening, after dark, this girl comes through the door. She'd done the hike, in the dark, alone. "My friend Laura" Sierra says.

From the moment we met there were sparks. We ended up sitting next to each other in the sauna, and laying next to each other in sleeping bags. You could cut the electricity between us!

Needless to say in my typical fashion I was dense and it took me a while to get up the nerve to ask her out on a date. And guess what - she stood me up! Well, not all the way up but she was like three hours late for our date.

As the summer wore on, we spent more and more and more time together. Mostly hiking around Juneau, camping, having lunch in the sun on the dock, and smooching!Sunset Kids
