Painting the Baby

Meadow likes having her toenails painted, and got it into her head today she wanted to paint her baby's toenails. She paid very precise attention to the painting of the toes, but then decided: "why stop there?"

As you can see, Meadow is very good at saying "cheese" for the camera (once she gets all ready and in position).

We found a small playground in the Place de Vosges just across the street from the flat where Victor Hugo lived. Meadow is a slide addict! She calls it the "weee" and now that she can string together more than two words was obsessively clamoring "mo' wee? mo' wee?". She's so smart. But not smart enough to recognize that Mommy and Daddy were freezing their wee arses off and wanted to find a nice warm cafe. I took this picture to demonstrate how advanced she is for her age: 6 year minimum? Fah!

No, Meadow hasn't been brawling. She's been eating one of her favorite things ever: berries!

Meadow's learning all kinds of new stuff on our European vacation. For the first time she's started stringing two words together "No mama" and her vocabulary has increased (she can now say "wine"). She also learned how to blow bubbles. To encourage her newfound blowing skills I bought her this insanely ridiculous toy:

One of Meadow's favorite toys is a Casio keyboard from the mid-80s we got at a garage sale for $1. What a bargain! Sometimes I try to show her Do-Re-Mi and tell her about "the major scale", but that's not so exciting for her yet. Mostly she likes to push the big neon-pink button which results in "Demo Mode" (the tune of which is now indelibly burned onto my psyche) so she can try out all her latest dance moves. Here's a look for ya:

Meadow's Fav Christmas Gifts

Meadow learned how to unwrap presents, so this Christmas was all kinds of fun. She naturally assumed that anything with wrapping paper on it was a gift for her, but she's learning. With the proper coaxing and diversion, she is one helluva unwrap-assistant and trash bag filler-upper.

Of all the presents she opened this year, her two favorite are the toy kitchen (left) from Auntie Heather and doll-house (below) from Secret Santa (but we have our suspicions!). She likes to fry up the plastic carrot and pour make-believe water into the cup with the kitchen. And with the doll-house she likes to slide the baby down the roof and put the family through various activities including putting their peepee in the poddy.

Feeding the Animal

Meadow loves giving Url the dog his scoops of food, and lastnight discovered the joys of feeding her other favorite little furry creature: Elmo! First she discovered Elmo would hold on to the doggy nugget, then she was so proud she was showing us he had it in his mouth.
